VAT on your quotes
In short
Devivolt suggests a VAT (TVA) rate for each line, from two things: the nature of the work (it comes from the work, the ouvrage of your library) and the site (is it a dwelling? is it more than 2 years old?). When a piece of information is missing, it applies 20 % and tells you so on screen.
The three rates
| Rate | When it applies | Example |
|---|---|---|
| 20 % | The general case: new construction, non-residential premises, supply without installation, or missing information | A panel installed in commercial premises |
| 10 % | Improvement, conversion, fitting-out or maintenance of a dwelling more than 2 years old | Reworking an existing installation |
| 5.5 % | Energy renovation work in a dwelling more than 2 years old | Heating controls |
What decides the rate
- The nature of the work, carried by the work in your library: renovation, energy renovation, new construction, or supply only.
- The site and its two answers. See My sites.
There is nothing else in the calculation.
The messages you will see
| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
| Quote without a job site: VAT is 20 % | Attach a site to open the reduced rates |
| The age of the dwelling is not recorded | Complete the site; a button takes you there |
| This site does not qualify for the reduced rates | Nothing to do: recent dwelling, or non-residential premises |
| Rate chosen by hand | Your choice is kept. The computed rate is recalled next to it |
Choosing a rate by hand
You can change the rate of a line. Devivolt keeps your choice and shows next to it the rate it would have applied, so the difference stays visible. A fourth rate, 0 %, is reserved for businesses under the franchise en base de TVA (VAT exemption for small businesses): it can only be chosen by hand.
The rate is your responsibility The reduced rate depends on what you observe on site. Devivolt applies the rule from your answers and points out what is missing. In the event of a tax audit, it is your declaration that is examined.
The customer's VAT certificate
Since 2025, there is no longer a separate paper certificate to get signed. The statement written on the quote replaces it, and it is your customer's signature that validates it. Devivolt adds this statement as soon as a reduced rate is applied. The signed quote is your supporting document.
