Your sites

In short

A site is the address of the work, attached to a client. It is also what decides the VAT rate of the quote. One client can have several: their house, a studio they rent out, a commercial unit.

The screen: a client's record, Worksites section.

Creating a site

  1. Open the client's record, then Add a worksite.
  2. Give it a simple site name: "Main home", "Rental studio". That is what you will see in the list when writing the quote.
  3. Address: the Copy the client's address button saves retyping it.
  4. Under VAT context: the type of dwelling (house, flat, other) and the floor area, if you know them.
  5. Answer the two questions below, add a note if needed (visible to you only), then save.

The two questions that decide the VAT

Residential premises: tick the box for a dwelling, leave it empty for business or commercial premises. Reduced rates only apply to dwellings.

Dwelling completed more than 2 years ago? Three possible answers:

Your answerWhat it changes on the quote
YesReduced rates (10% or 5.5%) may apply, depending on the work
NoRecent construction: everything is at 20%
I don't know yetDevivolt applies 20% and flags it on the quote
You decide, not the software

The reduced rate depends on things only you can observe: the age of the dwelling and the nature of the work. Devivolt applies the rule from your answers and warns you when a detail is missing. It never guesses for you. When in doubt, leave "I don't know yet".

Editing a site

Everything can be edited, including the VAT answers. The client, however, does not change: work at someone else's place is a new site.

An edit changes nothing on quotes already sent.
