Preview and PDF
In short
PDF preview shows the quote (devis) exactly as your customer will see it: your logo, your statements, your totals. As long as the quote is a draft, the PDF carries a watermark "Provisoire — sans valeur contractuelle" (provisional — no contractual value). On a large screen, the PDF is shown next to the quote and refreshes as you type.
The watermark
It prevents a draft sent by mistake from being taken for a firm offer. A draft has no number and its prices can still change.
It disappears when you issue the quote.
What the PDF contains
Your header and your logo, your customer's name, the site address, the itemized services, the summary with VAT (TVA) by rate, the legal statements, the waste block and your footer. Once the quote is issued, it also carries its number and a "Bon pour accord" box (read and approved) for a signature on paper.
Sending it
Two options:
- Get it signed online, the usual way: Devivolt sends the link and handles the signature. See Getting a quote signed.
- Download the quote (PDF), on an issued quote, and send it yourself. You will then have no tracking, no online signature and no automatic follow-ups.
Many customers print in black and white. A logo that is too light disappears. Better to find out before sending.
