Invoicing the balance

In short

The facture de solde (balance invoice) takes over the lines of the devis (quote) and deducts the factures d'acompte (deposit invoices) already invoiced. In the end, deposits + balance = quote, to the euro and to the cent. There is only one balance per quote.

How to do it

On the signed quote, in the Invoice this quote card, click Raise the balance invoice. The invoice starts as a draft; check it, then issue it.

If the deposits already cover almost the whole quote, Devivolt warns you: the balance will be close to zero.

An example

A quote of €10,000 before tax: €6,000 at 10 % VAT and €4,000 at 20 %, that is 11 400 € TTC (VAT included). You invoiced a 30 % deposit, that is 3 420 €.

On the balance invoiceAmount
Total incl. VAT11 400,00 €
Deposit F-2026-0001 already invoiced− 3 420,00 €
Amount due7 980,00 €

Each deducted deposit line links to the deposit invoice concerned.

A table Amount due, rate by rate splits that amount between the 10 % and the 20 %.

What the split by rate is for

On a balance, the VAT to declare is not that of the whole quote: the deposits already carried part of it. The split by rate keeps you from declaring the same VAT twice.

What is refused

  • A second balance: there is only one per quote. If the first one is wrong, correct it with an avoir (credit note).
  • A deposit after the balance: the balance already sent would become wrong.
